Grace Wan – Podiatrist in Cambridge, Carousel & East Fremantle
Grace graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine in 2018. She graduated with Distinction and received the Dean’s Prize in Podiatric Medicine a glowing award. Whilst studying, Grace completed a number of clinical placements in both Perth (including ArchRite Podiatry, Bentley Health Service, Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service, Fiona Stanley Hospital, Fremantle Hospital, Perth Children’s Hospital, Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital) and Singapore (East Coast Podiatry, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital). Prior to this, Grace had also graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2015 specialising in a Biomedical Science double major (Pathology and Laboratory Medicine) from the same university.
Grace, who has experience working in both private and public health sectors in both Perth and Singapore and gained valuable work experience and knowledge from doing that. Since graduating, in addition to her practical experience, she has completed further training and is now skilled in providing dry needling, electroacupuncture, joint mobilisation, Swift therapy, and shock wave therapy. Grace also provides a number of general podiatry services such as routine nail care, removal of corns and calluses, fungal nail and skin treatment, wart treatment, orthotic therapy (custom and off-the-shelf) as well as footwear education. She continues to expand her knowledge by regularly attending professional development seminars on topics such as podiatric surgery, advancements in orthotic prescription and footwear, medical grade footwear prescription, optimisation of running biomechanics, barefoot rehabilitation, and cancer rehabilitation.
Grace who has a keen interest in all aspects of podiatry, is especially good in the treatment of ingrown toenails (both conservative and surgical options), musculoskeletal conditions (e.g. Morton’s neuromas, heel pain, Achilles tendinopathy, etc.), and the management of patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes (via neurovascular assessments and comprehensive education for the prevention or management of associated foot complications). Having experience working in hospitals, Grace is also proficient in the management of high-risk feet in patients with diabetes, renal disease, and other conditions that may cause peripheral vascular impairment.
In her spare time, Grace enjoys keeping fit, indoor rock-climbing, and visiting local cafes and farmer’s markets. Grace would love to assist you with any podiatric needs and will strive to help you achieve your treatment goals.
